Hello everyone! Do you know what is mangrove? Mangrove is any of several tropical evergreen trees or shrubs of the genus Rhizophora, having stilt like roots and steam and forming dense thickets along tidal shores.
And today is my first time going to the mangrove swamp. I felt very excited and looking forward to the trip. When we first got down the bus, we were divided into 2 groups and we began our journey.
There were a lot of flies flying around us which made our legs very itchy and we were all distracted by it. We saw many interesting animals and creatures like horse-shoe crab, fire ants, mud skipper, mullet, Malayan water monitor lizard and ect...
After the trip, I had learnt some ways to conserve the mangrove swamp like do not litter or harm any animals or plants, pluck away the weeds and to pick up the pong pong.
Today our CIP is to pluck weeds. Other than weeds, we saw many red ants and spiders too and some of us even got bitten by it. As the soils were soft, we can pluck the weeds out easily and I felt that it was rather fun after all.
I really enjoy my trip and I hope that from today onwards, people can start to conserve the mangrove swamps and rainforest.
Here are some of the pictures that I took today and I hope you would enjoy it!

The picture of this tree is found on our money!
